Remember that beloved meme of the cartoon mouse walking into a room and then walking out again after witnessing something bizarre? John Farrell and Addison Reed basically recreated it today at Fenway.
In the eighth inning, with David Price on the hill, two outs and the bases loaded, Farrell lumbered out of the dugout and headed toward the mound. At that moment, Reed headed in from the bullpen, with everyone assuming a pitching change was being made.
Only it wasn’t. So Farrell waved off Reed, who immediately turned around and headed back into the bullpen, in true “let’s forget this ever happened” fashion.
It was a move oddly reminiscent of Winslow’s. Agreed?
