While my dream of a Cubs/Red Sox World Series becomes more unlikely with every David Price start, I’ll get a pretty good preview at this year’s All Star Game, where nine of the starting position players are from Chicago and Boston.

The big news among Red Sox representatives is that Xander Bogaerts is finally getting the starting All Star spot he should have had last year. He’ll be joined by David Ortiz, Jackie Bradley Jr and Mookie Betts. Magic Steven Wright and Not-So-Magic Craig Kimbrel have also been named to the pitching roster. Meanwhile, the Cubs are sending Anthony Rizzo, Ben Zobrist, Kris Bryant, Addison Russell and Dexter Fowler. Jon Lester and Jake Arietta will be among the NL pitchers. No word yet on what the uniforms will look like but I’ll take anything over those god-awful 70s-era Padres monstrosities the players were wearing during the announcement interviews.

The swing vote for the Sox is Dustin Pedroia, who has a chance to go to the game via Fan Vote. So you know what to do.
