The best day of the year aside from every day that the Boston Redsox beat the New York Yankees is the kick off of the NCAA football season. This Thursday August 27th when Abilene Christian plays Georgia State that will be a great day that we are all looking forward to. Below is a preview for some of this weeks biggest games.
Number 21 Texas A&M versus Number 9 South Carolina Gamecocks
The South Carolina Gamecocks are a 10 point favorite and both teams have key players as A &M has lost star player Johnny Manziel to the NFL. Kenny Hill is the new signal caller for the Aggies and he has his a lot to prove this week as SEC football has the strongest defense as you will see. Currently the Aggies are 0-4 against the spread in their last 4 away games and the Gamecocks are 4-1 against the spread in their last 5 home games.
Boise State vs. Number 18 ranked Ole Miss
Currently Ole Miss is a 10 point favorite while the Boise state team is not ranked it is not to fool you. The oddsmakers from Coopers Pick know that there are a lot of trap games and this is one of them. Look for Boise State to cover the as they are led by youngblood rushing attacker Jay Ajayi, who rushed for over 1,300 yards in the 2012-2013 college football season. Bo Wallace is back under center for a MSU team that may be a dark horse in the SEC. Last season MSU ranked 37th in the nation in total defense.
Boise State is 2 and 5 against the spread in the last 7 games while Ole Miss is an impressive 19-7 against the spread in 26 of their last non conference games.
BCS Champions Florida State vs. Oklahoma State
The bookmakers love FSU still as they are a 17.5 point favorite over OSU. Heisman winner Jamies Winston is looking to make headlines for the right reasons and head into the NFL with a big draft bonus if he can deliver from day 1. The Seminole defense is ranked number 1 still and running back Desmond Roland is looking forward to a big season. They are 5 and 1 against the spread in their last 6 non conference games and OSU has lost some key players in the offseason so look for this to be a “BIG blowout” according to one sports service.
West Virginia vs. Number 2 Alabama Crimson Tide
The current odds have Alabama favored by 26.5 points and West Virginia has 14 of their last seasons players returning for battle. Alabama is deeply stacked and starts off with a new quarterback in Jacob Coker who played for Florida State last season.
We look forward to an exciting season.
