On paper the match up doesn’t look very promising, but the way the Sox have been playing against the Angels, I like our chances. Scott Kazmir has been tough on the Sox in his career (23 starts, 8-7 with a 3.59 ERA) but something about the team’s sudden swagger makes me think he isn’t going to fare so well tonight. The Red Sox counter with Dice-K, and let’s face it, there’s only one direction he can go after his last start. But if I were Timmy, I’d stay loose.
Scenic Lowell will get the start as the improving Papi has always struggled against Kazmir (9 for 44, two homers, 11 K’s). Meanwhile, Mikey is 10-for-40 with four homers. Personally, I don’t care who the Sox play, they have the winning mojo and should send the most overrated manager back to Anaheim scratching his fat ass and thinking about his next job.
Red Flag: Tim Bogar’s got me reliving some of my old Wendell Kim nightmares. What was going through his mind sending Scutaro? The Sox could have had bases loaded with one out and Drew at the plate. Instead, Scutaro is gunned down and almost breaks his ass with one of the worst slides I’ve ever seen. I’m watching you, Bogar.
Great night for baseball…especially if Heidi is wearing a skirt in this wind.
