There are several things in life that are much more glorious than seeing Jon Papelbon and Manny Delcarmen lip-synch Milli Vanilli’s “Blame It On The Rain.”
Right now, however, I can’t think of a single one.
Why can’t we, the taxpaying citizens of Red Sox Nation, have more of this stuff? Where’s Josh Beckett and Mike Lowell belting “You Shook Me All Night Long”? Or Sean Casey and Manny teaming up for “Shiny Happy People”? Or Mike Timlin doing anything from the Ted Nugent catalog? I’d even be down for a Remy-D.O. take on “I’ve Got You, Babe,” which I’m certain has already happened, somewhere.
As for last night’s game? Feh. On most nights, when Manny Ramirez comes to the plate with the bases loaded, chances are good that the opposing pitcher’s gonna be heading back to the dugout with his nuts in a sling. Last night, Manny was 0-for-2 in that situation, so I gotta figure he’s saving up the awesome for today’s Matsuzaka return.
