We begged. They listened. Terry Francona, 8-0 in World Series games he’s managed, has been signed to an extension.

The Red Sox and Terry Francona this morning finalized terms of a three-year extension that will take the Sox manager through the 2011 season, it was learned today. Francona is still on the field so it is not known if the club will make an official announcement, but the new deal is expected to place Francona among the highest-paid managers in the game, which would place him in the $3 million to $4 million range.

Here’s to more tobacco chewin’ and bench rockin’. Oh, and more of those sweet Sullivan Tire spots.
