Boston Dirt Dogs has a photo [courtesy of Leighton Communications, Inc.] of the Sox players’ wives, taken at the second annual Say It With Flowers event, which benefitted Massachusetts ALS patients, caregivers and researchers.
Anyway, looking at this photo [and there’s a bigger version at BDD], I can pick out Shonda Schilling [the blonde third in from the left, top row]. And I think the blonde right above the floral arrangement is Mrs. Wakefield. But who are the others? In particular, the one on the far right in the black skirt? Because I used to date her back in the day. Okay, she never really knew about it and most of our dates took place exclusively in my mind. But still… they meant a lot to me.
So, can we name them all? Come on, anything’s better than talking about a two-hit loss to the Orioles. [And thanks to Gale for the e-mail tippy.]
In other news, thanks to Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports for mentioning this site in his recent article on Grady Little [It’s around the eighth paragraph from the bottom, Mom]. Maybe 2004’s Championship Season has softened me a bit, but sometimes I feel it might be time to change the name of this here blog. I mean, we survived Grady. And now, the guy’s leading a team to the playoffs, reborn in sunny Los Angeles. Reading Passan’s piece… I dunno. I felt bad for Shady Grady.
