Definitely not the same as the old boss. Bobby Valentine was introduced by Theo-sound-alike Ben Cherington this afternoon. Valentine sounded nervous at first, then became pretty emotional when speaking about the opportunity to manage the Red Sox. When the Q&A started, Valentine hit his stride, throwing in jokes about Crawford’s stance and Beckett’s time between pitches. He sounded pretty sincere and forthcoming throughout the session.
