Oddly, Cashman’s challenge has nothing at all to do with the Red Sox – Yankee rivalry, or baseball in general. Cashman called out Bobby V to rappel down a 22-story building!
Apparently Cashman has been doing it for the past two years as part of Stamford Connecticut’s “Heights of Lights” celebration. And next year, Cashman wants Valentine up on the roof with him.
“I publicly challenge Bobby Valentine to join me on the building,” Cashman told the New York Daily News today, as he made a practice trips down the Landmark Building in Stamford, Conn.
And yes, if you click on the link to the USA Today story, Cashman is sporting a headband. I’m sure Red will have something to say about it.
