On the beginning of this weekend of Independence Day, I’m thankful that the folks at NESN took a few moments during the pre-game show to remind us that there’s more to life than just booze and fireworks. There’s helping others, and… uh… something about the “Picnic in the Park” thing that I guess has been designed to raise money for… some cause. I think. Well the web address is plain to see in the screencap above so check it out. Honestly, as soon as I saw Heidi interviewing the ridiculously good-looking wives of Clay Buchholz and Hideki Okajima, all my mind could conjure was the thought of these three equipped with those whipped-cream-spraying bustiers from Katy Perry’s “California Gurls” video.
Anyway, Sox take on the Os tonight with yet another chance to gain a game on the Yanks, who already dropped one to the Jays this afternoon. Wakefield’s making his 201st Fenway start, surpassing the record formerly held by Roger Clemens. And I couldn’t think of a nicer guy to do it.
Let’s be safe out there tonight, guys. Nobody wants to see Teets playing first base this weekend. Oh, and if you haven’t done so, check out the previous post for our Sox 4th of July contest.
