A big win today combined with a Tampa Bay loss vaults the Red Sox into a tie for third place in the AL East. Seems like only yesterday they were in last place. Today we also celebrate the first time this season they are five games over .500 mark.
The first place Yankees lost another piece of their rotation when Andy Pettitte joined CC on the DL. Pettitte has a broken ankle bone courtesy of a Casey Kochman line drive. He knows how to heal quickly though (wink wink).
The Sox head west to Seattle then Oakland to continue their dominance. Then it’s home to face the Yankees. Things could look very different in the AL East in a couple of weeks.
