This has to be viewed as addition by subtraction. Tits McGee will miss the start of spring training after having a second “procedure” performed on his aching back. In case you missed him last year, he appeared in just 19 games and gave up 22 hits and 13 walks in fifteen-and-two-thirds innings. His ERA was a Lackey-esque 6.32.
Hopefully the procedure was breast reduction to take some of the pressure off of his back. 2012 will be the second year of a two-year, twenty million dollar contract, safe to say this deal was a bust (bad pun intentional).
