A few days back, I tweeted something to the effect of, “Who thinks Clay Buchholz will actually throw another pitch for us in 2011?” The responses I got were something like 30% yea to 70% nay, with a couple spambots promising me nude pix of his wife thrown in for good measure.
Today, it looks like the nays might have it, at least according to Sean McAdam, who reports that Clay’s got a lower back stress fracture. Which, if you’re trying to throw a baseball, will most definitely f$%k your shit up.
My best to Clay for a speedy recovery. A bummer to be sure, but the only thing getting me through it is the belief that he tweaked himself trying out some bizarre new position with the wife. Perhaps “The Chelsea Hamburger Stand” or “The Barcalounger Barracuda.”
