OK, all of the hoopla that surrounds a showdown with the Yankees is over. Now, can we get down to business and get Mr. Wakefield his 200th win?

Wake has struggled against the Twins, so I want to see some serious firepower from the bats tonight:

Wakefield is 1-3 with an 8.38 ERA in his last four starts against the Twins and has lost the last two, giving up eight runs in 4 1-3 innings of a 9-2 loss May 6.

I don’t want to see runners stranded, I don’t want to see missed opportunities, and I don’t want to see a close game left in the hands of the bullpen. I want this one out of reach early so Wake can cruise. He deserves that much, doesn’t he?

Also, get on board with the 3rd Annual SG Jimmy Fund Bash. We’re going back to our roots, holding it at Crossroads this year. And thanks to the magic of the schedule-maker, we will be viewing a Red Sox – Yankees game at the same time we raise money to rid the world of cancer. Sounds good, right?

7:10 start tonight to see a little Red Sox history being made.
