Hey, the last time we faced the Rangers, we were a different team. Fresh out of the gate and eager to please. Trying to live up to the hype that crowned us best team in baseball before a single pitch that mattered. We got our asses kicked but good, and that series set us staggering for the rest of the month.
Now we’re back. A little wiser, a little stronger. And while revenge would certainly taste sweet, I’m far more interested in keeping pace with the Yankees and shaking off the recent string of mediocre play.
So let’s just win. One game at a time. And if Erik Bedard wants to turn in the performance of his career or Carl Crawford wants to go 4-for-4, I won’t complain.
