First of all, props to Tony Lee over at NESN.com for reminding us that tonight will be the first time the Red Sox face Porcello since the infamous brawl. Unfortunately, finding a video of the event proved more difficult than securing a copy of the Zapruder film. Or naming a good Rob Schneider movie. This is the best I could do.
Youk’s comments after the brawl:
“I don’t have any regrets,” he said. “There comes a point in your life when you can only take so much. When people don’t do things in the right manner, you get kind of fed up with it and you have to do what you have to do in life to protect yourself. I take one ball off the eye, my career could be over.”
Gotta love Angry Youk. If the Red Sox play anywhere near the way they have the past couple of days, running off to their now-customary 14-run lead, this one could get interesting. And we have Wakefield on the mound, so any retaliation attempts will be kinda lame. Although it would be funny to watch Wake trying to bean someone with a knuckleball.
Put fresh batteries in the clicker and get the kids ready to be fetching beers from the fridge at twice the normal pace, the Bruins-Lightning Game Seven is also on. Happy Friday!
