Is the day after the All Star Game the worst day of the year for sports? I think so, the closest thing to sports last night was the Espys (no thanks) or the episode of Everybody Loves Raymond where Ray’s kid tries to play basketball with his hands down his shorts. Not much choice.
But tonight, baseball returns to Fenway Park with a visit from the Texas Rangers. Without, however, one Adrian Beltre. The man pictured above would like to know: Is it possible to be injured on Sunday, not injured on Tuesday, but injured on Thursday? That’s the story Adrian Beltre is telling. I know playing in the All Star Game is a big deal, especially since it was his first, but the goal is to get to the playoffs and win. Considering half his team has broken bones or was on life support in Arizona, Beltre might have considered resting.
Tonight’s line-up:
1. Marco Scutaro, SS
2.Eric Patterson, 2B
3. David Ortiz, DH
4. Kevin Youkilis, 1B
5. J.D. Drew, RF
6. Daniel Nava, LF
7. Mike Cameron, CF
8. Bill Hall, 3B
9. Kevin Cash, C
And the always unpredictable Tim Wakefield on the hill. Enjoy!
