The Julio Lugo era in Boston is over.
While it will bring great sadness to certain readers of this site who claimed to be “ahead of the curve on Lugo” (you know who you are!) the rest of can rejoice. Lugo was a disaster of Renteria-like proportions in Boston. He has lost his range and seems to have a phobia of turning a double play. I won’t miss him, not even a little.
It will be the Nick Green/Jed Lowrie combo at shortstop for the foreseeable future. And that’s the way we like it.
