You can’t ask for much more out of a team than what you witnessed last night. You get a complete game 6-hitter from your third starter, with no walks and just a solo home run ruining the shutout. The offense clicks up and down the line-up, every batter except J.D. Drew had a hit – actually every batter except Drew and Manny (1-for-5) had two hits. The result is a 7-1, 15-hit thrashing of the 2006 American League champions. Not to mention a very well-rested bullpen as we get to the bottom of the rotation. There is literally nothing to bitch about today.
So let’s talk about shirts. It’s day 2 of the Denton era, and while Red gets all shy asking people for money, I don’t. My pimp hand is strong and I know how to use it. So, get your first-place butts over to the SG store, and buy yourself something nice. You probably didn’t really want that waffle iron or pair of striped leg-warmers you got for Mother’s Day anyway.
