Now that play at the plate in yesterday’s Mets/Dodgers match-up was one of the weirdest things I’ve done ever seen.

Check the video for yourself at mlb.com. It’s worth watching just to hear Joe Morgan laughing — unbridled, incredulous laughing — as J.D. Drew gets tagged out seconds after Jeff Kent. Watching the video, you almost expect a third runner to come barreling into Lo Duca after Drew. Or a small car filled with monkeys in hard hats to steamroll everything in its path.

Truly one of those “what the f–k” moments for the ages. Right up there with Jeff Suppan’s “should I stay or should I go” maneuver during the 2004 World Series.
