Great news, but the gelatinous, half-baked form in which it was plopped out in the streets intrigues me. No real description of precisely what Theo’s going to be doing, but the official team press release tells us that he’ll be returning in a “full-time baseball operations capacity, details of which will be announced next week.” Which could mean he’ll be running the whole gig. Or just keeping Dave Wallace in Ortlieb’s and meat sandwiches. I mean, that’s gotta be a full time operation in itself.
All in all, it smacks of a desperate bid to ensure us that Gilligan’s not steering the good ship Minnow. Regardless, I’m a happy guy. Even if one of the conditions of Epstein’s return was installing Trauser as the Fenway house band.
