Bronson Arroyo: “It’s part of the game. It’s like going into second base hard on a double play ball. It’s no different. It serves a purpose in the game and if it has to be done, it has to be done.”
Don Orsillo: “Major League Baseball has come out and said that these suspensions are so severe because they want this to be a deterrent for the Red Sox and Tampa Bay going forward. Do you think it will be a deterrent?”
Bronson Arroyo: [Laughs] “It’s like the death penalty being a deterrent to people killing. It does nothing.”
