The unveiling of the much anticipated “Tug!” chant occurred during yesterday’s spring fling against the Twins, after Tug Hulett belted a three-run, pinch-hit homer. Although “Boof!” still has the slight edge, I’m thinking nothing’s going to make this a better summer than the echo of 35,000+ people screaming “Tug! Tug!” reverberating through the Fens.
Speaking of Tug — who was being compared to Dustin Pedroia by some scouts back in 2008 — the guy has a pretty poignant backstory. The kind of thing that makes you want to root for him even more.
