Since hitting his 399th home run, David Ortiz has gone three for his last sixteen. Certainly not a slump, the big fella has had worse stretches, but if he doesn’t hit one soon it might become an issue. We’ve seen players on the verge of huge milestones struggle and what we don’t need right now is the team’s most prolific hitter thinking too much. Look no further than the past weekend in Seattle where the lack of hitting turned a sweep into a split.
Tonight, I want everyone out there rocking the rally caps or doing the home run dance or sacrificing chickens…whatever it takes to get Papi’s 400th out of the way.
