Lots of things to be excited about today. For one thing, it’s a gorgeous, sun-soaked day in Boston and I conveniently came down with a sudden case of malaria (or so I told my boss). Also, the Sox are playing a matinee game, which gives you a good excuse if your neighbors ask why you’re pounding ‘Gannsett tall boys at 11am. And Josh Beckett, one of the surer things in our rotation, is on the hill, looking for win number 10.
Also, if the Sox win and the Phillies happen to drop tonight’s game against San Fran, the Red Sox will have the best record in baseball. Not bad for a team that was practically frozen in carbonite for most of April.
