The Boston Red Sox have one of the best offenses in all of baseball this season. Because of it, they are in a primed position to make it back to the playoffs this season. Boston is currently in one of the wild card spots in the American League, and they are in the toughest division in all of baseball in the American League East. Everyone is .500 or better in that division, though.

Manager Alex Cora has a few of his players in the 2022 MLB All-Star Game in Los Angeles, California, which is set to take place on Tuesday, July 19. The futures game will be on Sunday, July 17, and the MLB Home Run Derby will be on Monday, July 18. The MLB odds will be out for the 2022 MLB All-Star Game. Who are some of the Boston Red Sox representatives?

The three Boston Red Sox representatives for the 2022 MLB All-Star Game are third baseman Rafael Devers, shortstop Xander Bogaerts, and designated hitter J.D. Martinez.

Devers is their only All-Star Game starter and rightfully so at the third base position for the American League. He is one of the best hitters in Boston’s lineup, and rightfully so.

Rafael Devers
Rafael Devers is also a very underrated fielder, and the fanbase absolutely loves Rafael Devers. He usually seems to bat over .300 every single season, and this is why he is always consistent.
It is very rare for Devers to go on a cold streak.

He beat out Cleveland Guardians’ third baseman Jose Ramirez in the All-Star Game voting for this to happen.

Xander Bogaerts
Xander Bogaerts is the backup shortstop for the American League. He has hit for a very good average this season but has not gone yard too many times and has not driven in many runs either, but Bogaerts is a very important engine in the Boston Red Sox lineup.

The fanbase also loves his drive and energy. His fielding is also very underrated.

Where does JD Martinez Fit?

The starting shortstop for the American League is Tim Anderson of the Chicago White Sox, and it should be the case. Anderson is probably the best shortstop in the American League, and Chicago has been underachieving this season, and he has been one of their bright spots. They had high expectations heading into the season, but the White Sox are behind in the American League Wild Card race and the American League Central race as well here.

The starting designated hitter for the American League is Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Angels. He is a fan favorite in all of baseball. That is why Ohtani is starting, and he is also very good.

However, a lot of people feel like Houston Astros designated hitter Yordan Alvarez was having a better season in the American League.

It was a surprise that they found some room for J.D. Martinez of the Boston Red Sox to be in the 2022 MLB All-Star Game because even though he was having a very good season for Boston, he has not been better than Ohtani or Alvarez though.

J.D. Martinez provides power in the clean-up spot for the Red Sox night in and night out. Without him, they would be a little bit lost offensively.

No Bullpen Guys
It is also not a surprise they don’t have any pitching representatives. They have an okay starting rotation, and the bullpen has been horrendous for Boston and has cost them several games this season. Being in the American League East with the New York Yankees, the Tampa Bay Rays, the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Baltimore Orioles is tough to begin with, though.

Chris Sale has recently returned to the Red Sox starting rotation. Hopefully, he can give them a boost.

Sale has never stayed healthy and is an All-Star caliber pitcher when he is one, though. The Boston Red Sox will have a nice turnout at the 2022 MLB All-Star Game in Los Angeles, California, at Dodger Stadium.
